Pulwama, Aug 02 (KNO): The dilapidated condition of the vital Pakherpora-Yousmarg road is causing huge inconvenience to the commuters and residents here, who have demanded macadamization of the stretch. The residents along with tourists visiting a famous tourist spot Yousmarg told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the road is giving a tough time to the commuters due its bad condition. They said that the road is full of potholes, especially from Kanidajan crossing to Yousmarg, which pushes the common masses to the wall. Mohammad Abbas, a local tourist said that Yousmarg has good tourism potential and the flow of tourists is increasing with each passing day but they are suffering due to the bad condition of the road. He said the government must upgrade the facilities so that it can attract more tourists, adding that the pivotal road must be macadamized at an earliest so that people visiting there won't face any problems and locals can earn their livelihood. Yasir Ahmad, a local resident said that the road, connecting various localities and supporting tourism, is in shambles, adding that large potholes, uneven surfaces, and drainage issues have made the journey hazardous, particularly during the rainy season. He urged the authorities to take immediate steps to macadamize the road to ensure safe and smooth travel for all. Locals said that they have brought this issue into the notice of concerned authorities several times but to no avail. They urged the concerned authorities to look into the matter immediately and macadamize the road at an earliest—(KNO)
